Vanish is on a mission to help your clothes live many lives, from loving them for longer with our products to ensuring your pre-loved garments get a second chance at life.

We want to not only play a key part in this conversation but contribute to the solution by helping people embrace sustainable consumption and educating them about the impact fast fashion has on our planet and in our landfills.

As part of this mission, Vanish has partnered with Little Yellow Bird, a circular apparel company diverting textile waste from landfill. Little Yellow Bird uses a range of textile recycling processes that break down materials and weave them back into the textile production chain.

Together, we are pledging to help divert 10 tonnes of textile clothing from landfill in 2023, kicking off with an initial four-week trial in Wellington during February.

Our ReLove Recycle Stations were located at four selected New World supermarkets in Wellington during February 2023. Shoppers were invited to donate their clean, pre-loved natural fibre clothing items into the ReLove Recycle Stations during their grocery shop. All donated items were sent to Little Yellow Bird for processing, and ultimately, diverted from landfill.

We hope that through this trial and future initiatives, we can work towards our goal of diverting 10 tonnes of textiles from landfill in 2023.
